Power Electronics Lab.

Marquette Univeristy has a dedicated lab for power and energy research. The lab has a four 4/0 gauge wires fed directly from the building main transformer. The feed into the lab. is rated at 480 V RMS line-line and each phase is rated at 225 A RMS. The total power rating of the lab is 187 kVA. Marquette university has made significant investments into infrastructure and equipment for research in power and energy. The laboratory holds state of the art equipment such as Digital oscilloscopes, HV Differential probes, HF Regowski coils, soldering stations, DC power supplies and HIL simulations systems from major manufacturers namely Tektorinx, Weller, X-Tronic, Magna and Typhoon etc.

Sustainable Energy Lab.

Marquette University houses a state of the art laboratory dedicated to facilitate research in the area of sustainable energy. The lab has a 8 4/0 gauge wires fed directly from the building main transformer. The feed into the lab. is rated at 480 V RMS line-line and each phase is rated at 150 A RMS. The total power rating of the lab is 100 kW. In the near future, the lab will house a 100kW and a 50kW electric machine dyno setup. Currently, it contain multiple PV inverters rated at 3.8kW/5.4kW/9.3kW and electric machines (30hp). Werner lab. is also a proud partner of major engineering simulation software development companies such as ANSYS and Infolytica Magnet/Motor Solve.
